Det ble ikke mange skiturer under årets Hight Camp på Turtagrø. High Camp arrangeres av Fri Flyt og samlet i år rundt 300 deltakere. Været var skiftende og skydekket hang som regel over toppene. Store Steindalsnosi var den eneste toppen vi kom oss opp på. Dette er en fin nedkjøringstopp som er lett tilgjengelig fra Sognefjellsveien. Are og jeg prøvde ut randoneè utstyr for første gang.

Are inviterte meg med på årets High Camp. Det ble en innholdsrik helg sammen med mange andre turglade ungdommer på Turtagrø. Dette var mitt første besøk på dette tradisjonsrike fjellsportstedet ved foten av Norges mest alpine fjellområde, Hurrungane. Været var som sagt skiftende, men ustabilt vær er ikke akkurat uvanlig for dette området. Unormalt var nok heller årets skrale snømengder. Det er ikke normalt at anmarsjen inn til Store Ringstind må foregå til fots på denne tiden av året.

Vi ankom Turtagrø fredag kveld . Lørdagen deltok jeg på en workshop i fjellmedisin arrangert av Sven Chrisjar Skaiaa. Are driver også med fjellmedisin og jobbet som frivillig pasient under kurset. Det var et svært lærerikt kurs med fokus på førstehjelpsrutiner og annen kameratredning i fjellet

. Det er fint å få en slik repetisjon som øker bevistheten om hva man skal foreta seg i en ulykkessituasjon.

På vei oppover mot Steindalsnosi. Det var et lite lett lag med nysnø oppå et veldig hardt underlag.

Søndag var det endelig dags for en kort topptur. Store Steindalsnosi er en fin nedkjøringstopp i umiddelbar nærhet fra bilveien over Sognefjellet . Are og jeg lånte randoneèutstyr for å få skaffe oss litt erfaring med dette . Det ble ikke så mange timene på tur, men været lettet litt utover dagen og vi fikk med oss litt utsikt fra toppen, blant annet mot Fannaråken og noen av de andre 2000-meterne i området.
Den lille nysnøen som hadde kommet i løpet av helga var gull verdt på turen ned. Det hadde ikke vært så gøy å skrense seg nedover på det steinharde underlaget.
