I Midt-England mellom Sheffield og Manchester ligger nasjonalparken Peak District. Området er fint for klatring, grottevandring, turgåing og sykling. Kinder Scout er den høyeste toppen i området, og ligger 20 minutters togtur og 2-3 timers gange fra Sheffield.
Dette er ikke en nasjonalpark i norsk forstand, da det bor rundt 38.000 personer innenfor grensene i tillegg til veger og jernbane
. Likevel er det et naturskjønt område med kulturlandskap i lavlandet og lyngheier i høyden.

Kinder Scout er det høyeste punktet i området med sine 631 moh, og er den mest besøkte toppen i hele Storbritannia
. Selv om dette ikke akkurat er noen hårreisende høyde, føler man at man er på fjellet. Det er snaufjell, klipper og til og med noen ryper på toppen!
