Etter å ha lest en artikkel om Lundefuglens varslede ankomst 14.april i siste nummer av Fjell & Vidde, pakket vi bilen og satte kursen mot fuglefjellet på Runde denne dagen.

Påskens andre del ble i år tilbrakt i Overøye i Stordal kommune . Det blemange fine skiturer, men denne dagen bestemte vi oss altså for å ta bilen fatt og sette kursen mot Runde.

Runde er et av Norges mest kjente fuglefjell hvor blant annet lundefuglen holder til. Årlig hekker ca. 100 000 lundefugl-par på denne lille øya en drøy time fra Ålesund. Selv har jeg vært på Runde en gang tidligere, og ble utrolig fasinert av den forblåste plassen der ute hvor neste stopp er Nordsjøen.

Det er et mektig landskap man finner her ute på Runde. De bratte veggene er imidlertid populære hekkeplasser for hundretusenvis av sjøfugler (foto: Solveig Vassenden)

Som nevnt hekker omtrent 100 000 par lundefugl i de bratte veggene på Runde. Om vinteren holder den faktisk stand ute i Nord-Atlanteren, før den setter kursen mot fastlandet i mars/april . Jeg er ikke sikker på hvor datoen 14.april kommer fra, men fuglen hadde iallfall ikke kommet når vi var der ute . Mulig årets ankomst er utsatt på grunn av høysnue? Eller kanskje det er streik blant de kabinansatte? Ikke vet jeg..

Uansett kjørte vi nesten ut til Goksøyr camping, og parkerte bilen på en tilrettelagt p-plass der. Vi satte kursen opp mot Goksøyrmyrane og videre mot Lundeura, der flesteparten av parene hekker. Turen opp hit tar ikke mer enn en drøy halvtime, men terrenget er utrolig fascinerende
