Quandary Peak er på 13.plass over Colorado sine topper over 14`000 fot (4267.2 meter). Toppen ligger som mange andre av sine navnebrødre lett tilgjengelig. Det er mange ruter opp til Quandary Peak. Vi tok standardruta som går langs østryggen på god sti hele veien til toppen. Denne ruta er definert som enkel. Det eneste problemet for folk som til daglig bor nær sjøkanten er høyden over havet. Ruta starer i storvokst granskog på godt over 3000 moh. litt sør for skistedet Breckenridge.

I USA er alt godt skiltet. Dette gjelder også startstedet på stien som fører opp østryggen på Quandary Peak.

Stien er lettgått og lett synlig i terrenget

På vei opp østryggen går stien først i storvokst granskog for deretter å gå opp via gressbevokste enger opp til den mer høyalpine sonen som stort sett består av grus og mindre stein.
