De Syv Søstre er landemerket med stor L på Helgelandskysten ved Sandnessjøen. Det er mange sprekinger som bestiger alle toppene i løpet av èn lang sommerdag. Vi valgte oss ut 3 av toppene, Skjerdingen og de to toppene som utgjør Tvillingene. Det ble en strålende og varm dag med fantastisk utsikt mot blant annet Dønna, Lovund, Træna og helt opp til Svartisen i nord. Dagen ble avsluttet med et avkjølende bad i en badekulp på vei ned til parkeringen.

Toppen av Skjerdingen ble nådd 40 minutter etter vi stod nede i skaret. Fotoapparatet ble brukt flittig på toppen. På vei ned var det tid for en god halvtimes lunsjpause.

Deretter ble kursen satt videre mot sør, og de to toppene på Tvillingene. Siden vi ikke hadde kommet i gang før klokken 14 denne dagen begynte sola å stå litt lavere på himmelen, og det førte til en mer oransje og varm kveldstemning. Når været er klart og fint er utsikten utrolig vid fra toppene på de Syv Søstre.

Klokken var 20 når vi begynte på de rundt 900 høydemeterne ned til parkeringen ved Markvoll. Et forfriskende og avkjølende bad fristet etter en lang og varm dag på tur. Like ved stien danner bekken som renner ned mellom Skjerdingen og Tvillingene en perfekt liten badekulp. Bekken danner også et lite fossefall der den renner inn i kulpen. Vannet var hverken for kaldt eller for varmt, og ga oss en herlig avslutning på en flott dag på Helgelandskystens kanskje mest kjente fjellrygg.
