Besshøe ruver majestetisk i landskapet over både Besseggen og Gjende. Toppen ligger litt for seg selv i de østlige delene av Jotunheimen, mellom Gjendealpene i sør og toppene rundt Nautgardstinden lenger mot nord. Besshøe utmerker seg som toppturmål ved at den ikke krever noen ekstra transport eller anmarsj, noe som mange andre topper i dette området krever. Skisporene ledet meg raskt inn til der elva Grotåe renner ut i Bessvatnet. Her gikk sporene videre langs vannet i retning mot Besseggen. Jeg la på langfellene, spiste litt nøtte-blanding og drakk litt drikke før jeg tok fatt på de snaue 900 høydemeterne til toppen.

Nabotoppen i vest, Surtningssue og Glittertinden i nord lå gjemt inne i skydekket.

Jeg vurderte å ta returen ned fra toppen via nordryggen, men jeg var litt usikker på hvordan denne ville ta seg ut så jeg valgte det sikre alternativet. Nedkjøringen ble dermed samme veien som opp, men etter "Brue" skrådde jeg over Besshøbrean for så å holde høyden og videre i slak nedoverbakke forbi Bukkehøe, og helt tilbake til østenden av Bessvatnet. En svært behagelig retur som fullstendig omgikk flatene tilbake langs Bessvatnet. Det var noen kneiker underveis på denne ruta, men det gikk greit selv på blanke ski.
Etter litt over 5 timer på tur var jeg tilbake ved bilen. En flott tur rikere.
