Dalagubben kan by p� en av Sunnm�rsalpenes beste utsikter. Dette m�tte til og med W.C Slingsby innr�mme n�r han bes�kte toppen etter bestigningen av Slogen. 1300 h�ydemetere rett opp fra S�b� ved Hj�rundfjorden. Fantastisk utsikt!

Start ved den f�rste g�rden vest for S�b�. F�rst sikk-sakk oppover langs traktorvei. Deretter opp en renne rett opp fjellsiden. Ved toppen av rennakommer man inn p� en sti som leder videre oppover mot Dalagubben. I toppen av "dalen" mot toppen krysser man flere sn�fonner . I den siste sn�fonna kan det v�re greit med en is�ks . Fra den siste sn�fonna bestiges toppen greit via �stryggen.

Litt historie

Tindepioneren i Jotunheimen W. C. Slingsby var ogs� en pioner blant Sunnm�rsalpenes tinder. Han har blant annet f�rstebestigningen av Sm�rskredtindane. Slingsby pr�vde ogs� � st� f�rst p� toppen av Dalagubben (eller Miendalstind som den het da). Han besteg Dalagubben i str�lende v�r, men under arbeidet med � lage en varde p� toppen oppdager de et skjelett som senere viser seg � v�re en geit

. Slingsby uttaler derfor etterp�: "The honour of making the first ascent is due to "ei geit."
