Søndag var endelig alle forberedelsene ferdig og vi satte kursen opp mot fjellene. En gondolbane hjalp oss opp de første 1000 høyemeterne til la Chalette, men herfra var det kun fotkraft som gjaldt. Svært tunge sekker gjorde den første etappen opp til ca. 2800 moh. slitsom. Turens første overnatting ble på "brakka ved Rognes" etter at været slo om. Da det etter hvert regnet vannrett og vindkastene kom hyppig var det ikke så lett å sette opp teltet.

Endelig i gang. Klokken 1030 tok vi bussen til Les Houches for videre med gondolen til la Chalette på 1800 moh. Storsekken var pakket til randen. Den veide sikkert rundt 35 kg. Vi hadde med mat til til og med et toppstøtsforsøk på lørdag uka etter.

Oppover gikk det tross høy vekt og problemer med å få sekken på ryggen . Vi nådde togstasjonen ved Col du Mt Lachat etter ca . 50 minutt. Herfra var det videre på toglinja opp til Nid d'Aigle. Vi kjørte 25 min jobbing og 5 min hvile. På togstasjonen ved Nid d'Aigle ble det en ganske lang stopp for å beundre utsikten mot blant annet den imponerende nordveggen på Aig de Bionnassay.

Det tok ikke så lang tid før vi pakket sammen teltet igjen for å krype inn i hytta. Senere på kvelden kom også Øystein og Trond etter en liten veivalgsmiss. I løpet av natten kom det et og annet tordenskrall og styrtregn på det tynne blikktaket på hytta.
