Første tur i høyden. Vi tok gondolen fra Chamonix og rett opp til Aiguille du Midi på 3800 moh. Herfra ble det en kort 2 timerstur ned på breen og bort til Refuge des Comsmiques. Det var godt å komme i gang. Været var strålende og snøkledde alpetopper reiste seg på alle kanter. Fantastiske omgivelser.

Det var bedre vær denne dagen. På morgenshopping i matbutikken så vi for første gang toppen av Mont Blanc og omkringliggende topper. Planene ble forandret på nytt. Vi besluttet å vente en dag til før vi gikk opp i fjellene . Dette var mye p.g.a bedre værmelding inn mot midten av kommende uke . Dessuten hadde vi svært god tid på aklimatiseringsopplegget. Denne avgjørelsen gjorde at vi også møtte de 3 andre ekspedisjonsdeltakerne som ville ankomme samme kveld.

Været var fint da vi kom opp. Vi hadde med litt breutstyr for en kort tur ned til Refuge de la Cosmiques og tilbake. Jeg merket litt dunking i hodet, men ellers i god form. Det var godt å være i gang i slike omgivelser. Oppholdet på toppen ble kun et par timer. Det var ikke særlig lurt å være der lenger med tanke på høyden.

Ned igjen tok vi en stopp på Plan de Aiguille, stedet der man bytter gondol på ca. 2300 moh. En pils ble nydt i ro og fred på gresshellingen nedenfor hytta . Når vi var kommet oss tilbake til leiligheten gjenstod de siste forberedelsene, blant annet steking av middagskjøtt for et par dager. På kvelden kom Øystein, Trond og Jomar.
