På den siste dagen i april var det Sylvkallen som sto for tur. Da vi parkerte bilen i Sandaldalen lå skyene ennå ganske tett over oss, men i løpet den neste timen løste de seg opp og kun solen og den knall blå himmelen var igjen. Et perfekt utgangspunkt for en topp med så god utsikt.

Vi måtte gå i tjue minutter fra bilen før vi kunne sette skiene og gå langs siden på Fremste Kopphornet. Denne siden er bratt og kan være rasutsatt tidlig på vinteren. Vi krysset Nøvedalen over der den bikker ned mot Standaldalen, og over det korte flate partiet inn mot foten av Sylvkallen . Her hadde vi to alternativ, enten å ta av skiene og gå langs ryggen oppover, eller å beholde skiene på, gå en bratt kneik opp til dalen mellom Sylvkallen og den nordre toppen til Dalegubben. Vi valgte det siste alternativet, og kom opp på den samme ryggen i ca 1000 meters høyde.

Sola tok godt utover dagen, og drikken som var med gikk ned på høykant i varmen . Uten et eneste vindpust kunne man bare kose seg på turen oppover .

Vi tok av skiene i steinura like under toppen. Her glittret det blankt i steinene

Etter en fin nedkjøring tok vi fellene på skiene etter å ha krysset Nøvedalselva, og tuslet over flaten inn til Fremste Kopphornet hvor vi kunne ta de siste kjappe svingene for turen. For de med ekstra energi på tampen av dagen, anbefales en tur opp i siden til Fremste Kopphornet når snøforholdene tillater det. Dette er ei fin, bratt side som setter et godt punktum for en bra tur.
