Utrolig tur til Bonete (5004m) i dag. Vi brukte god tid og nøt turen til det ytterste. Alle kom til toppen!

På toppen ble det en runde svarteper (Gaute ble selvsagt den svarte svarteper) . På vei ned ble det litt springing ned grusen og hopping over penitentes. Vi prøvde også toppstøtskoene med stegjern.

Ble god mat da vi kom ned og etterpå skal vi lese resten av hilsenene på hjemmesiden vår dersom vi får strøm til PC'n.

Bakgrunn:

10 medisinerstudenter fra Det Medisinske Fakultet ved NTNU i Trondheim og 7 andre "ordinære" ekspedisjonsdeltakere dro i desember 2006 til Andesfjellene for å gjennomføre ulike forskningsprosjekter innen høydemedisin. Gruppen bestod av både ferske og mer erfarne forskere. De ville gjennomføre ulike eksperiment på sin vei opp mot fjellet Aconcagua. Det høyeste fjellet i verden utenfor Himalaya. Forskningsresultatene vil inngå i både hovedoppgaver og videre forskning og vil bli publisert i ulike internasjonale tidsskrift.

I et historisk perspektiv har dette vært en av de største ekspedisjonene gjennomført i norsk høydemedisinsk forskning!

Søndag 8. januar 2007 stod 16 av 17 på toppen!
