9. juni la en gjeng ivrige folk i vei til Innerdalen for ei opplevelsesrik helg. Fjellsportgruppa i Trondhjems Turistforening arrangerte klatrekurs.Det skulle klatres til den store gullmedalje!

Tårnet ble besteget med utgangspunkt i Innerdalshytta. Bilvei nesten opp til hyttetunet gjør stedet meget tilgjengelig for folk i alle aldre og fysisk form. På morgenkvisten tok vi fatt på lia opp mot Storvatnet . Svetten silte i 20 graders luft, men synet av tårnet i slikt flott vær fordamper all melkesyre og begynnende høydeskrekk. Vel opp ved foten starter lett klyving østover og opp mot skaret mellom Tårnet og Tårnfjellet . Går man så tidlig som vi gjorde ligger det ofte snø her, og man skal være forsiktig å ikke skli og havne ned i renna nedenfor. Det er ganske stor trafikk, så uthør med folk du møter om snøforholdene.

Det er flere ulike ruter til topps, alt etter nivå og ønske . Man kan sågar gå ”normalruta” opp, som ikke krever sikringsmidler. Fører for Tårnet og resten av Innerdalen er utgitt av NTK. Gruppa mi valgte å klatre opp Sør-eggen. Ei lett rute som har innsteg like til høyre for starten på ”normalruta”. Solskinn, og ryggen mot sør, hele dagen resulterte selvfølgelig i flere rosa mennesker med vondt for å ligge på ryggen.

Utsikten fra toppen er upåklagelig med 1000 høydemeter fra Innerdalshytta.

Vi gikk normalruta ned, noe som er helt greit på fine dager

. Er det regn og bløtt kan det være litt glatt og utfordrende. Vel nede var et bad meget forfriskende, samt den etterfølgende pilsen som ble servert av meget hyggelig vertskap.
