I følge reklamen er Fosen "et Norge i miniatyr!" Vi pakket derfor bilen med klatreutstyr for å utforske denne halvøya i Trøndelag. Fredag ble det klatring på Agdenes før kursen ble satt over til Ørlandet og opp til Tindegruppas hytte (NTNUI) på Selnes ved Stjørnfjorden. Det ble en helg i strålende sommervær med spennende klatring, noen flotte leirplasser og mye knott, klegg og mygg.

Norge på sitt sanneste", er utrykk som er brukt om denne halvøya på Trøndelagskysten. Og ikke uten grunn. Her finnes sørlandsk skjærgårdsidyll, nord-norsk barskhet og østlandske fjellvidder. Flatland og stupbratte fjell i stadig variasjon, med det evige "Atlanterhavet" direkte inn.

Det blir brukt store ord om landskapet på Fosenhalvøya i Trøndelag. Kort oppsumert blir man lovet alt på en gang hvis man avlegger et besøk. Jon B, Marius og undertegnede pakket bilen med klatreutstyr, soveposer, liggeunderlag, primus og kokekar for å tilbringe årets første juli- helg på denne for oss ganske ukjente halvøya. Fredag kveld holdt vi oss imidlertid på sørsiden av Trondheimsfjorden . Vi stoppet på Agdenes for å klatre et par ruter på Kaldklova. Vi gikk "Linjalen" sent på kvelden og var ikke nede igjen ved veien før klokka 0245. Det er fint med lyse sommernetter...

Lørdag formiddag gikk vi en rute til på Kaldklova. Denne gangen ble det en rute på den venstre del av feltet . "Jordbær" ble forsert i fin stil. Fra toppen av Kaldklova er det flott utsikt mot det flate Ørlandet og storhavet utenfor. Klokken 1700 tok dro vi videre med fergen fra Valset til Brekstad. Etter en kort proviantering der satt vi kursen videre mot Botngård og Selnes . Bilen ble parkert ved samfunnshuset langs riksvei 718. Derfra var det en kort men bratt anmarsj opp til NTNUI Tindegruppa sin hytte oppe ved Hafellheia.

Vi hadde tenkt å tilbringe noen kveldstimer i "Toppveggen" med ble stoppet av store mengder knott og muligens også noen andre typer utrivelige insekter

Knottsvermene fikk oss til å pakke sammen utsyret før vi trakk litt høyere opp på heia for å finne en egnet leirplass. Det var noe mer levelig et stykke høyere oppe, men etter hvert føltes det som om knotten hadde sporet oss opp på ny. Heldigvis ble vi reddet av vinden som ble sterkere i løpet av kvelden av natten. Det hadde ikke vært så trivelig å ligge under åpen himmel med 1000 knott surrende rett over hodet. Når sant skal sies ble det noen stemningsfulle og hyggelige kveldstimer på toppen av Hafellheia. Flott solnedgang i vest over Kopparen med den blikkstille Stjørnfjorden 300 høydemetere lengre nede.

Varm svaklatring

Søndag morgen hadde temperaturen steget et par hakk, og det var glovarmt under oppvarmingen i "Toppveggen". Etter en lett rute der gikk vi ned til bunnen av svaet under "Hovedveggen". Jon B og jeg startet på "Melkeveien".En svarute på 5 tallet. Knotten kjente igjen sin besøkelsestid nede i den fuktige bjørkeskogen og kom trekkende i hopetall under den første taulengden. Jon B som ledet an oppover fikk et ekstra problem i form av sterk kløe etter alle knottstikkene. Han klarte med nød og neppe å få satt de nødvendige sikringene opp til første standplass. Herfra var det litt trasking oppover et lyngparti før vi igjen kom inn på fast fjell. Svaet har få dårlig sikret så det ble langt mellom sikringene. Vi bestemte oss derfor å gå inn på ruta "Bråhast". Denne ruta er boltet så selv om det også her er ganske langt mellom sikringspunktene ble nok dette en langt artigere avslutning på klatringen enn hvis vi også hadde avsluttet med "Melkeveien".
