Det var nesten 3 uker siden siste fjelltur, og et eller annet måtte gjennomføres. Valget falt denne gangen på fjellene sørøst for Meråker. Årets fottursesong ble innviet i skiftende, men stort sett godt vær på et flott utsiktspunkt ved grensen mot Sverige.

Det ble en sen avreise fra Trondheim. Klokken var godt over ett før jeg kom meg ut på E6 med retning nordover. På planen stod det en kort overnattingstur i fjellene sørøst for Meråker, like ved svenskegrensen.

Jeg tok av inn til Storlidalen fra E14 like etter Meråker sentrum. Storkluken hadde pekt seg ut som et passende mål for helga. Det viktigste var å komme seg ut og for å innvie årets fottur-sesong. I tillegg var det hele 3 uker siden siste tur, noe som ikke akkurat har sjedd så ofte dette halvåret.

Bilen ble parkert på gården innerst i Kluksdalen . Her går det greit å parkere mot en avgift på 20 kr per døgn. Storkluken lå i bakgrunnen i øst. Sekken kom på ryggen og jeg tok fatt på bakken opp mot toppen. Terrenget rundt toppen er preget av slake åsrygger og store flate myrområder. Storkluken ruver derfor godt i terrenget tross beskjeden høyde. Været var av det skiftende slaget med en og annen fallende regndråpe.
Jeg fulgte en traktorvei/ slep i starten. Turen fikk et forhistorisk stopp like etter start. "Slagghaugan" var rester etter eldgammel jernutvinning i området (se bilde av infoskilt).

Sylmassivet i sør med Storsylen som høyeste sett fra teltplassen lørdag kveld.

Avstanden fra Kluksdalen til toppen var kort. Bare 3-4 km i luftlinje. Jeg etablerte teltleir ca. 1 km sør for toppen før jeg tok turen bort. På turen bort gikk jeg bortom blyglansgruvene som lå et steinkast fra teltplassen. Storkluken ligger nøyaktig på riksgrensen så varden på toppen fungerer som grenserøys med nummer 159. Fra toppen var det vid utsikt mot det store sammenhengende fjellområdet fra Sylmassivet i sør til Meråker i nord. I øst raget Snasahögarna med Storsnasen (1462,9 moh!) som høyeste . I sør var Storsylen (1762 moh) lett gjenkjennelig. Fongen (1441 moh) i sørvest, mens Skarvan og Storskarven kunne skimtes i nordvest.
Det ble noen kvalitetstimer i teltet med god kveldsmat og noen kopper kaffe før kvelden ble tatt i 2330- tiden.

Søndag morgen våknet jeg til trommende regn mot teltduken. Skydekket hang også tungt rundt teltet. Jeg brukte derfor god til på både morgenkaffen, risengrynsgrøten og pakkingen denne morgenen. Klokken hadde blitt 1230 før jeg kom meg avgårde. Det var absolutt ingen krise. Jeg hadde antagelig ligget like lenge hvis det hadde vært skyfri himmel. Dagens etappe var ikke stort lenger enn gårdagens. Jeg skulle kun ta meg tilbake til bilen... Jeg startet i regnbukse og regnjakke, men jeg kom ikke langt ned i lia før skydekket helt plutselig sprakk opp

. Her var det bare en ting å gjøre; en rask stopp for å få på seg mer egnede klær. Jeg la en liten bue på ruta tilbake til bilen og gikk innom den T-merkede stien fra Kluksdalen og over til Bjørneggen (NTT-hytte).

Utsikt mot Skarvan fra lia ned fra Storkluken

En kort, men avkoblende helg i nordenden av fjellområdet Sylan/ Skarvan var gjennomført. Et av de få store og sammengende fjellområder i sør-Skandinavia.
