Juratinden er en karakteristisk topp innerst i Gr�vdalen. Fra nord ser toppen ut som en loddrett fjellvegg, fra nord�st som en sylskarp spydspiss og fra �st som et stort t�rn. Dette er en typisk v�rskitur med start til fots i gr�nne omgivelser nede i dalen, midtpartiet gjennomf�res p� ski f�r oppstigningen avsluttes med rangling og lett klatring det siste stykket opp til toppunktet. Til dessert venter en lang og fin nedkj�ring i storslagne omgivelser.

Turen startet fra Trondheim fredag kveld. Vi stoppet ved Mjelva like �st for �ndalsnes for � klatre i skumringen. Etter at det hadde blitt m�rkt tok vi oss inn i Gr�vdalen og rullet ut posen ved s�tertunet Rabben. En kort natts s�vn ventet f�r vi kunne ta fatt p� morgendagens utfordringer.

Temperaturen fallt under frysepunktet i l�pet av natten s� vi kunne vente oss flotte sn�forhold oppover mot Juratind. Oppstigningen startet til fots under skyfri himmel. Etter ca. 300 h�ydemetre kom vi oss inn p� sn�en. Skiene ble tatt p� for � sette kursen oppover mot Hoemskardet. Juratinden viste seg for f�rste gang etter kun noen hundre meters gange . Den steile nordveggen viste oss nok en ny profil av denne majestetiske toppen. Rundt oss var det bratte tinder p� alle kanter . Et stort sn�ras hadde rast ut fra toppen merket 1508 nordvest for Nyheitind. Det var sv�rt overraskende � se hvordan og hvor langt raset hadde kommet bortover den lille sletta under toppen. Etter at vi passerte sn�raset ble det merkbart brattere. Den harde sn�en gjorde det mye greiere � forsere bakken til fots enn med ski under beina. Vi tok en kort "sjokkis" pause p� toppen f�r vi satt p� oss skia for � ta oss inn til Hoemskardet.

Juratinden stikker opp av sn�en som et massivt t�rn. Her er toppen sett p� vei inn fra Hoemskardet.

Fra Hoemskardet fortonet Juratinden seg som et stort t�rn som stakk rett opp av den store hvite sn�flata . En flott profil. Med "t�rnet" i sikte forserte vi de siste h�ydemeterne opp til Hoemsbreen i et lite lag med t�rr nysn�.

Det var f� problemer � ta seg opp p� toppryggen fra Hoemsbreen. Fra breen var det en sn�fonn som l� som en "rampe" opp til ryggen. Vell oppe p� ryggen tok vi en kort lunsjpause mens vi beundret utsikten mot s�rvest mot blant annet karakteristiske Vengetinder og Trolltinder.

Vi tok samtidig av oss skiutstyret og fant fram igjen joggeskoene som passet bedre til klyvingen og klatringen opp mot toppunktet enn stive plastst�vler. Vel, ikke alle i turf�lget hadde med ekstra sko. Are ledet an oppover ryggen med skisko. Vi hadde med oss et lett 30 meters randotau + noe enkelt sikringsustyr.

Toppryggen b�d p� artig klyving. Det var som s� mange andre steder stedvis ganske l�st, men vi kom oss uten problemer opp til den siste hammeren som sperrer for toppunktet . Her er det ganske luftig og sikringsmidler er n�dvendig selv om det er mange som gir blaffen i det ogs� her. Vi klatret oss opp en kort taulengde f�r vi kunne st� p� det lille toppunktet. Utsikten var mildt sagt fantastisk. Vikesoksa i nord�st, Hoemtinden i �st og nevnte Vengetinder og Trolltinder i s�rvest. I horisonten tronet ogs� Sn�hetta i �st.

Det ble et par rapeller ned fra toppen f�r vi kunne ta oss ned p� sn�en for s� � traversere oss tilbake til skiutstyret lenger nede p� ryggen. Nedkj�ringen ble litt uvant for mitt vedkommende. Jeg hadde l�nt meg noen telemarkski, men jeg f�lte aldri jeg fikk helt flyten p� skia i bakkene ned fra toppryggen. Savnet etter brettet kom raskt p� det gode f�ret.. Det var nysn� p� toppen for s� � g� over til "slush" lenger nede. Are briljerte imidlertid med solide svinger i stor fart nedover dalen mot F�rhaugsteinan.

"S� fortalte han om �ndalsnes et lite tettsted i Romsdalen omgitt av h�ye fjell, hvor det var s� vakkert at moren hans alltid hadde sagt at det var der gud hadde begynt da han skapte verden, og at han hadde brukt s� lang tid p� naturen i Romsdalen at resten av verden m�tte gj�res i hui og hast for � bli ferdig til s�ndag"

Kjente skitopper rundt Isfjorden sett fra toppen av Juratinden. De to "tvillingtoppene" Kyrkjetaket og Kj�vskardtinden sees mitt i bildet.

Dagen ble avsluttet med en buldre-�kt p� Skiri i Romsdalen. Etter endt �kt rullet vi ut posen for � sove over til s�ndag. Kveldsmat ble kylling-wraps p� engangsgrill. Myggen meldte for f�rste gang sin ankomst dette tur�ret, s� �repropper m�tte settes inn for � f� noen timer p� �yet. Myggoljen m� nok legges til som en fast artikkel i tursekken fremover...

P� s�ndag ble det en liten klatrerunde p� klatrefeltet ved Slettafossen i Romsdalen f�r kursen igjen ble satt mot Domb�s og Trondheim.
