Utgangspunktet var en opparbeidet leirplass langs Grøtåa i Grøtådalen, litt sør for det mer kjente Røa-vassdraget. Her er både elv og vann fri for den mindre populære gjedda som ellers begynner å bli ganske utbredt i Femundsmarka. Her trodde vi det var stor og fin ørret å få på kroken, men der tok vi grundig feil.
