 Været i Jotunheimen kan være nokså ustabilt om høsten, noe vi fikk erfare da vi hadde planer om å gå en del av Smørstabbtindtraversen i starten av september. Skydekket var lavt og da toppene kom til syne var de dekket av et hvitt teppe av nysnø, så planen ble endret til blåisvandring i Bøverbreen. |

 Årets siste offisielle sommerdag er passert og høsten er i anmarsj. Skardsfjella øst for Stugudal i Sør-Trøndelag ble turmål for denne første helgen i september. Skardsfjella er en rekke med fjelltopper rundt 1500 moh som ligger litt sørvest for Sylan. Høyden pluss det flate terrenget rundt toppene gjør at man får en vidstrakt utsikt fra toppen. Vi gikk en hesteskoformet rygg over de to høyeste av Skardsfjelltoppene. |

 Kjerringøy er kjent gjennom både historien og diverse filmer. Det mange nok ikke vet er at den riktignok ikke er en øy, men en halvøy. Grunnen til dette er nok at det er relativt slitsomt å ta seg hit til fots, slik som vi gjorde denne helga. Den eneste farbare ruta mellom Saltenfjorden og Kjerringøy er ca. 30 km i luftlinje, og starter nede ved fjorden midt mellom Bodø og Fauske, går over 3 fjellpass på 500-700 moh og ned i 2 dype daler ved Heggmovatnet og Mistfjorden. Hele ruta er omkranset av spisse tinder på opp mot 1100 moh, altså et fantastisk skue i godvær. |

 Lofoten kan by på veldig fin klatring om man har været med seg. Vi var så heldig å få fire dager med oppholds pluss en panser dag! Med fem dager til rådighet besøkte vi kjente steder som Paradis, Svolværgeita, Gandalf-veggen, presten svaet, sjø svaet samt klatre-kafè`n i Henningsvær. Fjellet i lofoten er mange steder veldig fast og fint, det som overasket oss var den enormt gode friksjonen. Fingerspissene samt sko-tuppene fikk kjørt seg godt.

 12.-13. august arrangerte BOBTOG (Bodø og Omegn Bre-, Tinde- og Grottegruppe) tur til Straumdalstind som ligger rett vest for Svartisen på Helgelandskysten. Påmeldingen til turen var heller beskjeden, så de eneste deltagerne var undertegnede og turleder Eirik, men dette la imidlertid ingen demping på turen. Etter 22 mils kjøring fra Bodø ble teltet satt opp så å si i sørmunningen av Straumdalstunnelen sent lørdag kveld. Før soveposen ble tatt fram ble det stekt pannekaker på primus. Lokalbefolkningen kjente da sin besøkstid, og etter å ha hilst på både sau og knott sovnet vi inn fulle av forventninger til morgendagens tur. |

 Værvarselet så bra ut for helga, og Skrove og undertegnede benyttet sjansen til å prøve oss på Snøhetta-traversen på Dovrefjell.  Svellnosbreen rundt er en klassisk ryggtravers over noen av Norges aller høyeste topper. Utgangspunktet for turen er Spiterstulen. Det er i alt 12 topper over 2000 meter som bestiges i løpet av rundturen. I tillegg er det mulig å legge inn en kort avstikker til Svellnosbreahesten. Vi fikk en flott dag i sommerfjellet. Vi startet med lavt skydekke, men kom etter hvert over skylaget og fikk nyte synet av Galdhøpiggen som svevde på et hvitt bølgende teppe. |

Profilen av Lauparen kan imponere noen av en hver på litt avstand. Turen opp hit er imidlertid verken spesielt vanskelig eller lang, og det er en topp som virkelig anbefales. Lauparen er en topp som har alt. 
I tur-rusen etter Breithorn valgte vi å droppe et løp i Sveitsisk Orienteering Week for å ta en litt lengre og tøffere topptur, og Castor (4228) ble valgt som mål for turen. Det innebar en 5 km lang brekryssing på 4000 meters høyde, samt lett isklatring helt oppunder toppen - med andre ord en artig utfordring for oss som ikke hadde klatret noe særlig is før. 
Etter noen dager med orienteringsløp rundt Zermatt var det endelig klart for hviledag, og dermed tur til den enkleste 4000-metertoppen i området. Vi var 19 personer, fordelt på tre taulag, som tok første kabelbane opp til Klein Matterhorn onsdag morgen. 
Namsen er en av Norges beste lakseelver, og har sitt utspring i Børgefjell-området før den møter sjøen ved Namsos. De nederste 7 milene av elva er lakseførende, og hvert år kommer folk fra hele Europa hit for å fiske. Jeg er i den heldige posisjon å ha slekt med fiskerett i elva like ved Grong, og bruker hver sommer å prøve fiskelykken med markfiske her. Denne beretningen er fra en fisketur 14. juli 2006.
