Kjempetur på tre av Dovrefjells 2000-metere. Bestigning Vesttoppen på Snøhetta og Storstygge Svanåtind. Fantastisk vær og uforglemmelige opplevelser. I tillegg fikk vi med oss en tredje 2000-meter. Nordre Svanåtind på 2004 meter.

Turen startet på vanlig sted. Dvs. så langt veien er brøytet inn til Snøheim. Vi startet med Snøhetta i synsfeltet og skyfri himmel

. Alt lå til rette for en av årets fineste turer. Dagens første mål var Vesttoppen på Snøhetta som rager 2253 moh. Skiføret var godt, og fellene satt slik de alltid pleier når brattbakene begynte et stykke forbi Snøheim. Det var varmt i sola, og kortermet supertrøye fungerte perfekt . Høydemåleren på klokka viste at vi nærmet oss raskt 2000-meter. Det var som vanlig ganske avblåst på ryggen opp til toppen, så skiene ble festet på sekken de siste 200 høydemeterne.

Like etter at skiene var festet ble vi overrasket av et raskt værskifte. Tåka kom sigende og vinden økte. Den kortermede superen var ikke lenger ideell. De siste høydemeterne til toppen ble seige, men tålmodigheten lønte seg og til slutt kunne vi sette beina på toppunktet. Et raskt toppbilde ble tatt i det sure været, før returen ned i retning Hettpyntan. Tåka var tett og gjorde nedkjøringen i det flate lyset utfordrende.

Heldigvis lettet tåka når vi stod foran den siste nedkjøringen til vannet 1500 ved foten av Svanåtindan. Blå himmel og mektige topper så langt øye kunne se. En rask spisepause ble gjort ved foten av østryggen på Storstygge Svanåtind. Selv om den siste delen av ryggen opp til toppunktet ser svært bratt ut på avstand måtte vi gjøre et forsøk.

Det gikk i sakte men jevnt tempo oppover ryggen, og vi kom etter hvert opp til det bratte partiet. Etter litt diskusjon ble vi enige om at det var forsvarlig å forsette hvis ikke snøforholdene forverret seg merkbart.

Heldigvis for oss var det noen som hadde gått den samme ruta før oss. Det gjorde saken mye enklere da det stort sett var ferdige trapptrinn i snøen. Storstygge Svanåtind (2209 moh.) ble dermed besteget i beste stil.

Turens siste mål var å bestige Nordre Svanåtind (2004 moh.). En liten topp i lett terreng nordover langs ryggen fra Storstygge Svanåtind. Returen til bilen ble gjort langs lia vest for Svanåtindan . Vi holdt på å gjøre en grov navigasjonsfeil, men reddet oss inn og fikk til slutt satt kursen mot Svanåvannet.

Kroppen begynte å merke de 8 timene på tur. Når vi passerte elva Svoni gjorde vi to forskjellige veivalg. O-løpere som vi er var vi nødt til å teste ut hva som var raskest. Jeg tok en høyresving og returnerte langs Svanådalen, mens Ola og Christian kjørte mer rett på men med mer stigning over Kjølen.

Kveldsstemningen begynte å senke seg når jeg gled nedover de slake bakkene fra Bandranden . De slake terrengformasjonene er en tålmodighetsprøve når man begynner å bli sliten. Samtidig var ikke føret helt på min side. Snøen var ganske råtten. Jeg kjempet meg bortover uten feste, og håpet at jeg skulle ta innersvingen på de to andre. Det skulle vise seg at det praktisk talt ble dødt løp mellom de to veivalgene. Jeg var kanskje 1 minutt før Ola og Christian ved bilen. Da jeg tok av meg skiene for å gå de siste meterne over veien kom de to rennenes ned fra Snøheim.
